Re: Southwold - Email to east Suffolk biz development regarding over night parking

Is max 48hrs a rigid definition and a requirement for CAMpRA approval on S4S? I've seen this creep into a few discussions of late, almost by default (not just on CAMpRA groups). Continental aires and stellplatz are not all short-stay, in fact the only real commonality is that they are only to be use...

Re: Southwold - Email to east Suffolk biz development regarding over night parking

A winter aire would be good proposal for the site. The harbour itself remains open all year, and speaking to the Harbour Master he and others work on the campsite and the harbour as required. Are there examples of winter aires on sites with a significant number of static caravans where year-round oc...

Re: Southwold - Email to east Suffolk biz development regarding over night parking

I motorhomed in Southwold over half-term in October, using the campsite by the harbour. My notes below. Given it was half-term and the weather was good, the occupancy level on the site was poor. Although some pitches had been taken out of use due to waterlogging there was a lot of empty pitches. The...

The names of the nine members of the Southwold Harbour Committee are given here:

Working out who represents what interests should give a more useful target for an email than an anonymous general email address.

Re: Discussion doesn't mean chit-chat

But if they're turned off within a couple of hours after half-a-dozen posts, it's a bit of a lottery as to whether or not someone with useful information on the topic has a chance to make a comment. A typical post is that someone's been to X and thought it would be nice town for an Aire and has alre...

Discussion doesn't mean chit-chat

I'll raise it again here as it's getting nowhere on Facebook. Me: Admin... rushing to shut down discussions in this group is not creating discussion on the forum. It's just killing the discussions. Please consider reviewing you strategy as this doesn't feel like a community. CAMpRA Admin response: P...

Re: Southwold - Email to east Suffolk biz development regarding over night parking

The Southwold Harbour Management Committee are probably the ones to approach. Their remit includes the entire harbour area, including the campsite. It's not immediately obvious from Google Earth if there's a suitable plot for an aire alongside the campsite. It all looks a bit damp, and reading some ...

Re: Southwold - Email to east Suffolk biz development regarding over night parking

Might be worth referring to the council owned campsite by the harbour. There have been recent changes in the management of Southwold Harbour, and one of the stated aims on the website is to improve revenue generation from the campsite. I'm booked for the campsite in October and will be eying up the ...

Re: Trouble in West Norfolk with camping injunction

As above. If it's the plot of land I think it is, then it's only just been sold/auctioned again. According to the article the EC shouldn't have been issued as the site is a protected habitat. The relevant KLWNBC Planning meeting should be on YT. The EC was granted to a CIC. The Notice of Incorporati...
