I only posted it on this site as a follow up when we toured in May. I might have checked on the P4N app.

The sign put in place at Mayfield was done by SBC . They have included that it is covered by a Traffic Regulation , so no overnight parking is allowed in that area, although there had been no issues in the past.

I see that this aire is now up and running. Looks like a very good facility in a good location.

This aire is now open and available to stay on and you can also just stop off to empty the Elsan plus fill with fresh water . There is also a grid for emptying grey water. The Elsan & Fresh water point is £4 by coin operated meter. When we were there last month the EHU was not connected up yet, ...

Springwood Park is not going to be suitable unless the staffing arrangements are changed. It is just too restrictive.
There is already an outdoor 24/7 Laundry facility in the town, so cannot see another one coming in.

Need to look for another site that would be more suitable.

There are 2 new signs at the small parking area at Mayfield in Kelso that state that you can park during the day, but no overnight camping or sleeping is allowed. The second sign then directs anyone looking for overnight sleeping in the van to go to Springwood Park. Not sure how friendly this makes ...

They now have the permission through that allows use of the proposed areas to be used for camping. The problem is that they have not thought through how they are going to take bookings and have someone look after it. I am sure that the planning application is in for this development. If I remember correctly, it will have everything except EHU and it is certainly handy for the town and ferry.
