Re: Isle of Gigha

Thank you. That's good to know. Hopefully it will be ready for 2022.

Isle of Gigha

Does anyone know who owns s the car park at the ferry terminal on Gigha? There appears to be no parking restrictions on it. There are public toilets there. It would be a good place for an Aire, especially as there are no campsites on Gigha.

Derry

When visiting Derry we parked at the carpark on the Foyle Road (A40) near the Craigavon Bridge. Whilst talking to a gentleman there he told us that they have applied for planning permission for an Aire at the carpark and hopefully will have it set up by 2022

Firpark Hotel, Sandbank, Dunoon

I have left information about CAMpRA with the Firpark Hotel, Sandbank, near Dunoon. They already allow you to park overnight if you have a meal there. There is also already one hook up point. They had already had asked the Council about vans parking there and knew the rules. Hopefully they will be i...

Re: Kintyre 66

I wrote a piece about Kintyre which was published in October 2020 issue of MMM under the heading 'My travels'. It's a lovely part of Scotland.

Re: Argyll & Bute Council Motorhome (and Informal Camping) Questionnaire

Attached is an article in the Dunoon Observer. It mentions working with the National Park but no mention of working with the Forestry. Hopefully Argyll & Bute Council will take on board the need for Aires. Perhaps Meg has an update.

Forestry and Land Scotland

I have attached an article from our local newspaper, Dunoon Observer, which I thought might be of interest. Ardentinny beach has always been a popular place for people camping. Unfortunately last year it became a victim of its own success. The sheer volume of campers caused problems with the amount ...

Re: Argyll & Bute Council Motorhome (and Informal Camping) Questionnaire

I too like Cookie Camperz have suggested Glenmorag car park in Dunoon. The other place i have suggested is the car park at Inveraray.

Meg and I have met at a rally at Kelso should she need anyone who lives in Dunoon we are only too willing to help.

Re: Argyll & Bute Council Motorhome (and Informal Camping) Questionnaire

I live in Argyll & Bute. Over the years I have been emailing and sending letters to them about provision for motorhomes, more recently including sending them documents from CAMpRA. I have completed the survey and have suggested the Glenmorag car park in Dunoon and Inveraray car park as possible ...

Re: Toward Sailing Club.

Hello Steve Below is Toward Sailing Club's response to the information that you supplied. I don't think that we can go any further with this. What happened at Ardentinny was disgusting - a very similar story that which was reported in a lot of places in Scotland. There was a lot of waste, rubbish, g...
