Re: Camping Car Park list
Brora There is what appears to be a perfect site for an Aire subject to an approach. The Brora Heritage Centre has a huge level car park/hard standing and grass area with waste bins. It is only a 1km from centre of the village. The centre has toilets and I would have thought the addition of a drink...

Re: Car park at Tobermoray, Isle of Mull
Despite the 'no overnight' signs, I understand that there is no TRO that covers this car park. It's certainly used by motorhomes overnight (including us!). However, see this report prepared in 2019 by local community groups: https://mull-community-council.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/2019-REPORT...

Re: Planning application for aire at Cullen
Is anyone from CAMpRA in touch with Moray Council about the proposals at Cullen?
I see that the site owners, Seafield & Strathspey Estates, have just put up a No Overnight Parking sign which means is is urgent that the aire development goes ahead as soon as possible.

Re: New Ground -Portland
I don't think a waste point actually at the car park would be practicable but could easily be added to the public toilets 1/4 mile away. I think they need to do this otherwise they will continue to get blockages caused by people emptying cassettes there, I believe it is being considered.

Re: New Ground -Portland
The model standards for holiday parks state 5m if the static caravans are aluminium construction . Might be worth sending them our fire safety report I've tried twice to contact the working group with no response. I'll maybe try the Services & Facilities Committee Anyway, it was discussed at th...

Re: New Ground -Portland
Yes, together with a waste point at the public toilets which I believe was in an earlier proposal put to the council.
Interesting that the Car Parks Working Group recommend a 5m separation for fire safety reasons - wonder how they arrived at that figure?

Re: New Ground -Portland
I've been looking into this further. Portland Town Council has a Car Parks Working Group that was tasked with addressing the parking issues at New Ground Car Park. They produced a report which was presented to the Services and Facilities Committee Meeting on 19th July and also to the Full Council Me...

Re: New Ground -Portland
I've been in contact with the Town Council, this is the reply from the Deputy Town Clerk: New Ground Carpark is classed as a Carpark and so we are covered by insurance and regulations for that description, we are not permitted to use the ground as a campsite which is essentially what has happened to...

Re: Pendine Motorhome park
I've recently been in touch with the Clerk to the Community Council. She says: "Unfortunately, there is an issue with MOD that is preventing us from opening our motorhome park at the moment. As soon as this is resolved I will let you know." I think the land is owned by the MOD and subject ...
