We would like to introduce the newly formed Newquay Town Team.

"Dear Newquay resident, business or visitor,

The Town Team comprises of representatives from all sectors, from retail, charitable organisations, hospitality, leisure, residents, and the public sector. Our aim is to transform and revitalise Newquay’s Town Centre over the coming years and to ensure Newquay is best placed to future bid for vital grant funding as and when the opportunity arises.

We will look to develop a holistic regeneration project that will help make Newquay Town Centre more attractive and desirable to visit, to shop and to stop.

We want to make Newquay a bustling and progressive town that supports the local economy with fewer empty premises, where businesses can attract more trade and footfall and where both residents and visitors alike will want to spend time and make use of the town centre offerings.

This is a big ask and a long-term project. In order to achieve our aims, we want to ensure that we really listen to everyone’s views.

This is not a Town Council or Cornwall Council vanity project or “tick in the box” exercise. We as a Town Team are a new body with each member having an equal say and equally committed to this project. We believe we have a real chance to make a change and transform Newquay’s Town Centre over the coming years.

Over the coming months we will be asking for your views to better understand what works and what does not work, to identify Newquay Town Centre’s strengths and weaknesses, what changes need to be made, what physical improvements are required and what barriers we must overcome to meet these objectives.

The Town Team meet every fortnight, virtually at present, to discuss the project and make progress on identifying what outcomes we are trying to achieve. You can email your thoughts and suggestions to: info@townteam.co.uk.

We look forward to you getting involved to help us help Newquay."
