Truro

Post by Steve »

From Facebook
Just saw this posted on another group. Can anyone follow it up?

Cornwall council are considering allowing motorhomes to park overnight in Truro. They rejected one site at Boscawen park, but are still looking for a suitable site.
Meanwhile, Lidl have just taken ownership of the Truro f.c. land for their new store, so I emailed their property department to ask if they were installing motorhome sized bays in the car park, as Sainsbury’s did in Penzance.
They replied saying that the original plan was not submitted by them and that there are only normal bays, including disabled and parent-and-baby.
Still, it’s a start. Maybe other Cornish towns will follow their lead.

Someone suggest the park & ride sites are empty at night.

They are at the P&R by Waitrose . It would be possible to do it there. There is an area not used but has or was used for COVID-19 testing. There is another one at other side of Truro which could possibly work too

Not sure if the Council own it or not but there is also an area at the end of Newham Road which would make a great aire, right by the river and a flat walk in to town.
