Looe Town Council

Post by Stephen Peacock »

Sounds promising. I have responded with suggestion that someone in the CAMpRA leadership team might be a brought in to any zoom meeting.

Dear Stephen

Thank you for your emails to Cllr’s Hannaford and Toms and apologies for the delayed reply. The issue was discussed at our meeting on the 1st March. The resolution of the Council was:

Members discussed the message received about overnight camping in the town. Concern was expressed about impacts on residents, hygiene issues and the loss of income for local businesses.

It was agreed that this would be looked at in more detail by Services & Asset Management Committee and that CSD would respond to CAMpRA on behalf of the Council.

As you may be aware all local government is approaching the election period which starts on Monday so can make no new key resolutions until the 8th May when the new Council is in place. However I would be keen to meet with you by Zoom or Teams before then to understand more and be in a position to advise Councillors, once elected, on any information/opportunities with your kind support and to invite you to one of our Services and Asset Management meetings.

Kindest regards

Mel

Thats great Steve, thats all we ask is a chance to explain.
Shame about the comment about loss of income to local businesses, assume that campsites being treated as a special case again but we will cross that bridge when the time comes.
