Tourism in East Anglia - Reports, Plans, Surveys

Post by CShel »

Whilst investigating the Visit East Of England website, and Visit Norfolk, I came across these reports

1) New Anglia Norfolk and Suffolk Unlimited - 'A Recovery Plan For The Visitor Economy'
Nowhere is Motorhome Tourism considered or recognised. We need to tell them!
Contact names are: Doug Field, Chairman of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, and Andy Wood, Chairman of Visit East of England.
An email is given - info@norfolksuffolkunlimited.co.uk - no telephone number. Email will be sent

2) Online Tourism Business Survey, (Winter Report) Prepared for: Visit East of England
Again, no recognition of the motorhome tourism factor and what is might contribute to the local economy.

3) Tourism Sector Deal brochure
"The tourism and hospitality sectors are very important. They feature in the Industrial Strategy as two areas where it is particularly important to work together with firms big and small, as we are doing, to establish training institutions and spread technology so that we can raise their performance to
compare with the strongest performance elsewhere in the economy." Rt Hon Greg Clark MP (Sec of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.)
Are we in touch with their thoughts?

I have received a response

Dear Mr Shelbourne

Many thanks for bringing this matter to our attention and apologies for the delay in responding. The information you have provided has been reviewed and is very helpful and we will ensure that this is picked up and considered as we develop our new plans with partners this season.

Kind regards

This morning I thanked him and said we had developed the East Anglia Coastal Tour document, and that I hoped he’d find it useful for hospitality and tourism businesses in this area
