Please see email from CCP can we help with suggested targets or more importantly places to avoid or to work with us?

Could I ask help choosing the different towns to call and contact.
I have begun a list but thought you better than anyone know if there is an opportunity as you know what is going on politically.

Add Carlisle and Kendal. I have mentioned CCP to Carlisle. Kendal at the gateway to the Lakes. Indeed, CCP may do well to introduce themselves to The Lake District National Park, and indeed others who have an impending deluge of motorhomes heading their way.

Barrow in Furness is looking at providing its own motorhome parking and services on Walney Island, I do question that it will attract year round trade of the sort that a high-end outfit like CCP is going to need...sorry to say as I grew up there.

I spotted an empty parking area (closed and fenced off) at New Bridge, Greenodd, Ulverston, Cumbria.it’s in the small village of Greenodd, with a few small shops, ice cream parlour, butchers, cafe and chip shop. Lots of good local walks. It’s also on the Road, to Coniston and the western Lake District.

Kendal already has a large Aire near the Morrison’s retail park, opposite Queen Kathryns School, (Spittle Caravans) the cricket club car lark is also popular at £5 per night.

Wakefield
I have contacted WMDC and thrown the idea into the hat.
There is ongoing development of old mills next to The Hepworth museum and I understand thus will provide facilities for music/drama etc.
The Hepworth is a renowned museum. Nearby is Pugneys Country park and there is empty land nearby on the M1 corridor. There are 2 railway stations giving easy access to Leeds/ York etc
Wakefield is in need of development and tourism to drag it back
Into a viable city and a motorhome Aire would help put it on the map.

Newton Stewart, I think, is probably a non-starter for CCP type aire. There is a large riverside car park but it gets very busy in Summer and is prone to flooding.

Stranraer has large car parks, one of which is adjacent to a boat park, with water and EHU. There is also acres of car parks and disused land where the ferry terminal was. This organisation might be able to help

I Think Windsor would be a great location for a CCP aire. The council already permits motorhome parking at their Alma Road carpark, bur a full service aire would be much better. There is lots to do in Windsor, obviously the castle, but Legoland too. It also has a direct rail link into London. I don't know if part of the Alma Road carpark could be adapted or even part of the Riverside car park near the station. There might also be land across the bridge in Eaton. I am not a local, but have been to Windsor a few times.
Another Location, I think, would be St Albans. With Hatfield House and the Warner Studios not too far away and again train link into London, it seems a good position to have an aire.
