Following up on a Facebook post on some ambiguous signage at Burghead, here is the response I received from Moray Council:
'The area in question is not part of the public road and the signs are advisory only. So whilst the information is advise you are not breaking any law to stay overnight but it's not something the Council wish to encourage'.
I did reply with my own opinion suggesting that when such signs are ambiguous they then become open to different interpretations which is exactly what happened on the FB thread, and subsequently can lead to conflict.

Re: Burghead
Hi , This is my first post / reply. I used to stay at Burghead on the Boulevard, Thats the area signs went up a few years ago now. Interesting thing is , a chemical disposal point created outside the loos at the harbour the same year. I believe you could still park near the beach slipways near the harbour, small ish carpark. I felt my van was to big for parking there. Simply havent been back sadly. I started using Findhorn aire.
