Re: Beccles Town Council (on the Broads)
We’re nearly there!
Today, I met with the Town Clerk, Paul Cunningham, at the Beccles Quay Var Park site to finalise the Motorhome Parking Area that will display the CAMpRA Rally sign, and let 5 motorhomes stay over, in 24 hour sessions, up to 48 hours. It should open on 21 August, the day that their contract with the current management company ends.
Airestop will handle the motorhome spaces, and a new company will manage the rest of the car park.
I don’t think motorcaravans will be allowed to stop daytime in the car park, but anything can be changed at any time in the future.
Yellow posts along one side, beside the parklands at the quayside, will show where each motorhome should park.
Airestop will only allow 5 vans to pay, after then it’s not available to others.
There are no MH services on site, although there is a toilet block with showers and a laundry just 100 yards away beside the moorings. They are not 24 hours. As for the all-important Elsan disposal need, there is the possibility of those at the boatyard nearby to be available, for a normal fee, and Mr Cunningham will investigate as he knows them well. The boatyard has previously been hosts to motorhomes and they understand what’s needed.
The town is lovely and has lots to offer tourists as it’s been a boating resort for generations. Boat hire is available day trips and there is a good choice of waterside restaurants and a Wetherspoons too!
I’ll post again shortly when it’s finally open. Watch SFS!

Re: Beccles Town Council (on the Broads)
This is now up and running.
It is an Airestop CAMpRA 5-van site.
