Embassy Bolton railway at Skipton

Post by Wendyr »

On Saturday evening we attended a murder mystery event on the Embsay Bolton railway near Skipton.
The event was excellent and finished around 9 pm so prior to booking I sought permission to stay overnight in the car park and this was allowed.
It is a large flat car park- the gates are locked in evening but there was someone from railway on site in a caravan who was very helpful.
I have now written to the management of the railway to suggest this as a suitable Aire and will update if I get a response

I had a conversation with them and they were going to add waste points and apply for an exemption certificate for both stations.
Worth following up to see if they progressed and completed the online application.

Was at the Embsay - Bolton Abbey railway yesterday for afternoon tea and briefly asked at the ticket office about overnight parking - they said it was under consideration but there were questions around security and other things. I did email the address on their website asking about overnight parking a few weeks ago when we started planning the visit but didn't get a response.

I have sent them 3 emails to date and never received a reply.
It is such a shame, they have car parks at both stations that would be suitable.
However, they also provide parking for a local coach company so that limits space overnight a little.
