Can anyone pick this up please?
We pulled into a large carpark in strathyre next to gear cycle path on disused railway crossing Part of Rob Roy way. On this lovely park area there was a sign saying the local community has applied to take the area over and intends to upgrade carpark etc. Thus posted in April this year. There was a cafe called “The Broch Cafe” also on this area. We went in and had a chat with the owner and comments were. Lots of motorhome stop and she thinks the community are talking of putting facilities in. She gave me the contact for the trust. blsctmail@gmail.com
We told her all about CAMpRA and she was very interested hence the email address. She owns a section of the area for the cafe. They do need a control on mh staying as there two vans just as you came in the entrance and they had chairs, tables and canopy out and had been there a few days.
Can someone follow this contact up as we are travelling so wifi difficult?
Lovely spot and such a opportunity.

I am not local but often visit this area as my daughter lives in Stirling.
What is it you will want? I am going next weekend 12 & 13 June and have passed by this place many times.

Thanks for the offer. I'd like your opinion on the suitability of this place as an aire. There seems to be two parts to this.
One is the cafe where they have a carpark. The other part is the area which the local community wish to take over.
If the two motorhomes were on the cafe part then the cafe owner can set their terms for people using their parking. Something like "Customers only no camping behaviour ie no chairs and tables" They can also stipulate times etc.
I have been in touch with someone from the community trust. They were fairly negative about an aire. We need someone who lives in the area to put the positive view accoss.
Please pm me if you need clarification on anything.

Are you aware that the Asset Transfer Requested is planning to include
motorhome parking at £10 for 24 hrs? I managed to find some information about the plans PDF attached

Re: Strathyre
Another PDF with more info on the proposed Motorhome Parking services
A much more detailed report which seems to point to the fact they are aware of aires and are included in the plan.
Unfortunately the date for representations passed in April.
