South Tyndale Railway

Post by Wendyr »

Excellent response from South Tynedale Railway where it seems overnight stays are already welcome.
This is the response

I will respond to thank Nic - should there be anything furtherI should be telling her or would anyone more local like to follow up
Thankyou

Hi Wendy,

Apologies for the delay in responding.
Our carpark is definitely available for overnight stays and in the past these have been bookable via our website with a suggested donation of £5. We are currently changing the payment gateway on the website but we hope this will be up and running again soon.
We are unable to provide facilities outside of regular cafe opening hours and anyone booking in would need to be aware that the car park is locked overnight.
We are currently reviewing opening times etc before we re-open properly again when regulations allow, but it is likely that our onsite cafe will open in the mornings at 10 and the gates would be unlocked at 9a.m approx.

Please do get in touch if you need more information. If we cannot get the payment gateway up and running again before people want to book, then we are happy for people to make their donation in the cafe.

Please get in touch if you need any further information.

Best Wishes
Nic

Great news, a waste point would be useful if the can install one?
Added to new UK Aires list.
Any chance of a photo for the gallery please?

Response from my Facebook post suggesting purchasing vouchers for future parking to raise funds for a waste point is very popular.
Maybe someone can approach them with the idea

Hi Wendy

I was there at weekend (based largely on you mentioning it on this post👍) and have taken some pics, shall I post them in this thread or would you like them sent another way

In addition there is a council recycling centre just 50 yards from the STRPS car park, attached satellite view shows blue dot 🔵 as car park and red dot 🔴 as recycling centre

Turn right onto main road as if going into town centre, past Moredun garage and take right turn down little lane signposted as sports field and recycling centre
