Hi Lynn,

There are also programmes such as The One Show that may also be worth contacting:

For your convenience, I've included your original contact to forward:

"Whitby Tourism - Following the mayor of Whitby highlighting the need for people to continue visiting Whitby and supporting the area I made contact about lack of provision for motorhome overnight stopovers. The response I got back is below. I am a member of a motorhome campaign site called CAMpRA whereby we aim to help councils and other land owners the benefits of allowing motorhomers to park up and sleep overnight. Following on from the pandemic towns are crying out for visitors especially out of season, there are thousands of motorhome owners in the UK who would support local businesses if facilities were available for them in towns and cities. I thought you might be interested in this as a topic of discussion? Thank you for your email in response to the Town Mayor's appearance on the Today programme this morning. The town council has made it clear to Scarborough Borough Council, which runs the car parks in Whitby, that there should be provision for motor homes. Unfortunately, the borough council has not responded positively. We will continue to make the case for better facilities."

If there was any other contact information you needed, please don't hesitate to write to us again and we'll gladly source and provide what's available!

We wish you the ongoing best of care and welcome any enquiries you may have for us in future,

With kindest regards,
George.

I don’t mind following through and contacting the today programme but I would struggle to contact the local bbc for Scarborough. Is there anyone who could do this that lives in that area (I live Cheshire)
