Great North Tour and Northern Network

Post by Grey Wanderer »

I've posted this image on North East Group showing possibilities for motor caravan touring routes in the north of England. NE group are working on the Northumbrian Coast, some one is looking at the North Yorks Moors.

I have already done and issued the Cumbrian Coastal Tour and the Northern Link Tour to the various local authorities, National Park and Tourism bodies. I've already emailed the list below of clubs, pubs etc along the Cumbrian Coast. I'm sure there are more possibilities that someone living locally to Cumbria may be able to pursue. Volunteers???

Whilst Lake District National Park, the west coast boroughs and Cumbria Tourism are on board with producing and promoting their own version of the Cumbria Coastal Tour, South Lakeland district Council is dragging its heels; somebody local who could get campaigning in the South Lakeland Coast area would be a useful asset.

The rest of the north west coast, and the Western Pennine route and the local circuits are as yet a pipe dream needing someone with time and patience to make a start, preferably someone with local knowledge in each area...Volunteers???

I am happy to make a start on the Western Pennine Route, and possibly its continuation down to the Peak District. But I can't do everything. These tours make a good opportunity for those of our members who live in these areas to get stuck in. I can provide an editable Word version of the Cumbria Tour as a basis for new tours, a lot of the basic text suits other places.

Hi
I live in the forest of Bowland and would be happy to get involved in that area unless someone is already covering that area

Mrsmc219, sorry don’t know your name?
You should now be able to see an additional forum “North West Campaign Group” this forum is only visible to the campaign group members and leadership which allows you to work together as a small local group.
