Post by Steve »

CAMpRA where invited to speak at this group meeting following the announcement of becoming a registered company.
The response was very positive with a lot a interest in our market sector.
Representatives from the two big clubs were at the meeting.

A great presentation of our aims and goals. Great to read, you had a positive response from the All Party Parliamentary Group.
Also good to see the 'BIG' clubs were also represented, and hopefully they will go away, consider our points of view, and work with us.

Thanks for all you are doing, it will and is making a difference.
I have submitted the report to my councillor in Dorset to see if they will support this initiative. I will comment into the facebook post asking to convert 1.3k likes to actions in the hope that it encourages others to do likewise. I will even drop in my email text that they could copy and paste to adapt to send to their own LCA representative.

email text -

I am emailing you as a resident rather than from the PC. I am the owner of a Motorhome and have recently joined a group campaigning for AIRES within the UK, these are low key locations that motorhomes can stop at for one or two nights with basic facilities. Each member is asked to see if their local authorities would support providing these sort of facilities within their areas. This could be opening up a car park for overnight stays or approving planning for a landowner to provision these facilities on their lan. I recall you mentioning that Dorset Council were looking to increase tourism. The attached document which was a briefing at to an all party Parliamentary group this week which highlights the opportunity to tap into a large tourist community that I thought you might like to see.

Feel free to copy, adapt and send :)

What happened about this Group, has it reported and been disbanned? I cannot find the web page anymore or its inclusion on the Parilmentary registry.

There was a change if personnel and the group is not operating at the moment.
We are not sure if it is temporary or permanent?

We are hoping to become members of the tourism Alliance in the new year as stakeholders representing UK motorcaravan owners.
