Well to say our dealers up here are a disappointment would be an understatement. Not a response from any of them. Not even "No" ....

Par for the course!
I believe Tracey has had some luck with a local dealer, so get the lipstick on!

We do have an iron in the fire so I am taking it easy just now to see what develops, they have to come to the party sometime.

Arthur try a stealth Approach, contact them and tell them you would like someone to contact you with advice about purchasing a motorcaravan.

When they contact you make one of your questions where do we empty our toilets?

Then ask if dealers in the UK provide this service to thier customers?

Thats you lead in.

Well that was a barrel of laughs and for an optimist like me, a failure.

Phoned two dealers using the stealth approach - I don't mind distorting the truth a little to get someone to listen! I've been a customer of both these dealers in the past 10 years and I was happy to give my name.

Basically conversation was polite and constructive until I asked the big question "why don't UK dealers offer a water and waste service for £5?" Thereafter waffle. Most constructive suggestion was I could join BritStops!

So lets get on with the next challenge, though if I can get a face to face with someone in authority, I'll try again.

Isn’t it so tempting to start a list of dealers who refuse to support their customers or back up their sales activities.

Unfortunately we are against confrontation so not on this group.

Had they even heard of CAMpRA?

The three different people I spoke to didn't appear to have a clue about anything other than shifting metal/grp. I did say that I was disappointed their support was zero.

All polite and non-confrontational. Just move on ............

I knows its a few months off yet but if I can get to the Scottish Show I'd love to have a chat on their stands.

But we could start a list of dealers who do support us with waste points.

Then ask dealers if the would like to be included on our recommended list ?

We could. The only dealer I know with a waste point is Highland Campervans and a potential one in Northumberland / Durham?

We are trying for waste points in Northumberland and Durham.
Durhan City could come up with one that is in a coach stop/service area.
Fencehouses if approved will have one.
We have 2 now in Northumberland on Aires with a potential of another 3 in the pipeline.
I am also currently chasing NC Council to supply one and Murco petroleum for another that is at the centre of the NCC trial area.
But a dedicated waste/service area (Murco) would be ideal.
