The owner contacted us some time ago asking about setting up an Aire.
If anyone local knows the zoo can you pop in and speak to them please?
Isle of Wight Zoo
Re: Isle of Wight Zoo
Hi Steve
Maybe able to help with this but need to know "how to go about it" please?
Do/will I have to ask (what sort of) questions, and how would I deal with questions from them, especially if they involve finances?
Do we have guidance sheets to advise please?

Re: Isle of Wight Zoo
Thats great, best documents to refer too are
If they have a parking or hardstanding area there is no real cost unless they mark out or seperate the motorcaravan bays.
If they have water and sewerage (most likely at a zoo) see if it’s possible to add a simple waste point ( if its a charity or community zoo they may qualify for assistance from our waste point fund).
A waste point will attract passing trade.
Overnight parking allows longer visit.
They can apply for an exemption for a 5 van site via CAMpRA.
Testimonials indicate increased security and less anti social behaviour on sites that allow overnight parking.
This is year round revenue
They can restrict access during busy periods like B/H if they wish.
As a visitor attraction the can include overnight stay as part of admission or offer a voucher to redeem against admission or in the shop etc.
The main point is its an untapped revenue stream and will attract visitors to the iske of wight
