Thank you Andy.

This is a great spot. Its currently unofficial/informal for a donation with no facilities. Could match Findhorn! Suggest we put on FB and get positive comments in on planning application?

(I've added my Comments)

We know the location quite well, having used it several times.

I am in touch with one of the directors of the Three Kings Cullen Association, which is the community charitable organisation involved with this, so I did know that the application was in the pipeline.

I've asked him if he can provide any further background info, particularly on how the site will be managed, charges, etc., the plans include a barrier entry system.

I assume that, once planning is approved, an application will be made to the RTIF for a grant.

Having sent a positive response to this application to Moray Council, I received the following good news today:

"Install 15 overnight campervan/motorhome stances including surface water drainage electrical ducting and chambers erect storage shed and chemical toilet disposal point and install access barrier at Site At Port Long Road Cullen Moray

I refer to your letter submitting representations in respect of the above development and write to advise you that the application has been approved with conditions.

Your representations were taken into consideration in determining this application.

Should you wish to view the decision notice a copy is held on file at Moray Council offices in Elgin and in accordance with the Council’s agreed scheme of charges, decision notices can be obtained at a cost. Alternatively, a copy of the Council’s decision and report prepared in support of the decision can be inspected on the Council’s website at http:/publicaccess.moray.gov.uk/eplanning"

I am familiar with this location and it should make a fabulous site.

In granting the planning permission I note that Moray Council have included this condition:
"The camper vans and or motorhomes use herby approved shall be used for
holiday purposes only and shall not be permitted to be used as the sole or main
place of residence of any occupant; a holiday being defined as a stay of one or
more nights away from that persons sole or main residence.
Reason: in order to ensure the use of the site for holiday purposes only."
Does this exclude MoHo full timers from staying there?

Martin.

I would read this to mean that you cannot park up there for long periods as a place of residence.
As long as you just park up and move on as required you are OK.

Is anyone from CAMpRA in touch with Moray Council about the proposals at Cullen?

I see that the site owners, Seafield & Strathspey Estates, have just put up a No Overnight Parking sign which means is is urgent that the aire development goes ahead as soon as possible.
