Here's a new planning application from the local community for an Aire just outside Tarbert in Harris. The main village is walkable and its handy for the early ferries. There's CDP close by already but there will also now be grey water disposal - which Harris desperately needs. The next round of Rural Tourism funding is now awaited.

Thanks for the information. There are a lot of proposals for aires going in for this round of the fund. I hope this one gets it as it will be good for the ferry.

I am sure that the planning application is in for this development. If I remember correctly, it will have everything except EHU and it is certainly handy for the town and ferry.

Work not started yet. Here is reply I got from North Harris Trust who submitted the application
"We have no expected opening date for the pitches at Urgha at present. Currently survey work etc is being undertaken on the site before work can commence."

RTIF funding awarded - the last piece of the jigsaw, so funding in place to start construction in the spring. Hopefully open for summer season.

This aire is now open and available to stay on and you can also just stop off to empty the Elsan plus fill with fresh water . There is also a grid for emptying grey water. The Elsan & Fresh water point is £4 by coin operated meter.
When we were there last month the EHU was not connected up yet, they are waiting on the electricity company to connect the power.
It is a very good job that has been done to a high standard. Less than 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal.

I only posted it on this site as a follow up when we toured in May. I might have checked on the P4N app.
