Kirkcudbright swimming pool has lots of space around it. The manager, Colin Wyper, also manages Silvercraig's caravan park and is amenable to the idea of a motorhome short stay stopover facilities. He also mentioned that money was available from the town council for such a facility. An email or letter to Colin and the community council from Campra might spur things along.

Good morning Colin, we were lucky enough to spent 3 weeks in Dumfries and Galloway in September our last trip before lockdown. What beautiful part of Scotland.
We stayed on the car park in Kirkcudbright, had fish and chips and stocked up in the local shop.
We did the town walk and on passing the swimming pool though what a great location for motorcaravan overnight stop (Aire) max stay 48 hours to give people time to explore when touring.
It would also be an excellent place to provide the much needed motorcaravan waste point for a small charge as this was the one negative thing about our visit the lack of facilities to empty waste.
We are also trying to get campsites to allow the use of waste points for a small charge something common in France.
We did suggest this to the owners of the cycle shop in town who was keen on the idea.
All of our towns need the support of tourism to help us recover from lockdown.
Please feel free to contact me or visit our new business hub for lots of information including our motorcaravan survey results:
