Motor Home Parking
Motorhome parking in the Dover district is available in some of our car parks providing the length of the motorhome does not exceed the maximum length of a single parking bay.

If the length of the motorhome exceeds the length of a single bay, then parking is available at Maison Dieu Car Park where vehicles can occupy two bays. However, the vehicles must clearly display two current pay and display tickets. Motorhomes must not park in bays specifically designated for other users (coach parking bays, taxi ranks, bus stops etc).

Does this mean Motorhomes and Caravan owners can now Park AND Sleep in their vehicles overnight, as they were built for, albeit Without Services. ?

Yours Sincerely

Response from Mr Dean Aldridge, Parking Operations Office.

Good Afternoon Mr Simpson,

Motorhomes, yes, but then they always have been allowed. There is still the restriction during the daytime hours of 9am to 6pm for Caravans, no trailers allowed.

There will be a charge of £10 per motorhome or vehicle towing a caravan, for overnight parking in these areas between the hours of 6pm to 9am. Pay & Display tickets are to be purchased and placed in the windscreen of the vehicle, from one of the 8 ticket machines on Waterloo Crescent & Marine Parade, Dover. Our enforcement team will patrol the areas during the hours of 6pm to 9am and enforce the restriction.

Kind Regards

Dean

I then emailed for Clarification; -

So, if you have a motorhome, you can still park during the daytime, 9am - 6pm at Marine Parade, and Waterloo Crescent ?

Some motorhome owners, thought being denied daytime parking, would stop them parking and shopping in the area.

Paul Simpson

Hello Mr Simpson.

Yes, Motor homes can still park during the day with a valid P & D ticket.

Kind Regards
