East Midlands ‘Sleep Out To Help Out’

Post by Tim »

I have arranged two SOTHO events in DE55 (near Alfreton).

As with other SOTHO events, all we ask is that you are prepared to venture out and use the local shops and businesses and to bring a litter picker.

Event one.

Village location, Sat 5th of June. No facilities on site apart from parking. Plenty of local takeaway shops within a few minutes walk, three pubs, one micro pub and several small supermarket style shops.
Space for eight vans.

Event two.

Country location, Fri 11th of June. Parking, water and cassette empty. This is a restaurant/pub with a large car park. You should arrive with anything you need as there are no shops around. You can ring ahead nearer the time to book a table.
Space for ten vans.

To book for either please reply here in the first instance, I will wait a week before advertising on the Facebook page if not full.

Copy of post SOTHO message to Councillor John Cox.

Hi John, thanks for taking an interest in the CAMpRA event and for turning out on what was a miserable morning.
I spoke to Steve Haywood after your chat, he was most appreciative of your support.
This is the breakdown of the attendees spend while in the village.

Garage-fuel……£135
Shops-groceries…£45
Pubs……£130
Takeaway…….£59
Outlet…..£108
Total spend £477.

The feedback from the participants was very positive in relation to the village and it’s proximity to the M1/A38 junction.
Somebody from CAMpRA’s leadership team who knows the ins and outs of setting up a village Aire will be able to offer the council better advice than I could.
If you need anything else please let me know.
Regards,
Tim
